Wildlife enthusiasts from throughout the region are invited to converge on Brighouse Bay on Saturday 8 June to hunt for some of Dumfries and Galloway’s hidden wildlife treasures.
Cree Valley Community Woodlands Trust are organising a free training course on how to recognise and find Water Voles on Thursday 8 November.
A programme of events throughout SW Scotland from 29 September to 7 October will mark the first ever Mighty Mushroom Hunt in the region. The event will include a search for the mightiest mushroom of them all, but also looking out for the tiny ones that perform mighty jobs for our countryside and environment.

National wildlife recording charity BRISC (Biological Recording in Scotland) will this year be holding their annual conference at Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries on Saturday 27th October.
The Dumfries & Galloway Environmental Resources centre will be running a number of guided walks in April and May.
The guided walks are a fantastic opportunity to learn about different wildlife in the region. Anyone is welcome to attend these events, you don’t need to have any prior knowledge.
